The methodology for RIBOS is based on the Minimum Standards Manual for the UK Occupancy Survey, as defined in 1996 by the Centre for Leisure Research (see attached). While the core data collection, analysis and reporting for serviced accommodation still adheres to these standards, there have been many changes over the years to incorporate additional sectors (self-catering, touring & hostels), additional analysis (e.g. confidence surveys, revenue data), and to provide additional reporting.
