How to set up a variable product using WooCommerce and WordPress. This assumes you have already created the product - see Create a Product.
The product details are contained within the Product Data section, which has the following tabs:
General Section
Inventory Section
Shipping Section
Linked Products
Attributes
Additional details for the product, based on Attributes you you have created, e.g colour.
Choose an attribute relevant to the product, e.g. Colour:
Then choose the attributes that apply to this product, e.g. which colours are available:
For attributes that you want buyers to choose on the product page, tick Use for variations. Then see Variations below.
Variations Section
This requires at least one Attribute that has been ticked as Used for variations. These might look as below:
This has potentially 8 variations for each colour and size. You can choose to create the variations manually using Add variation, use create all possible variations automatically:
In our case, the following variations are created:
Once the variations are created you must add a price to each one for it to appear on the website, even if they are all priced the same. Expand each variation and add the price, weight and other details as required.
To add an image to be associated with the variation, click on the blue icon (to the left of the SKU box).
When all have been update click Save changes.
Click the main Update button to update all the changes made to product.
